Duncan Street Social Club
Duncan Street is a Happening Place
Going Legit
In our effort to formalize some aspects of the DSSC under the 501c7 umbrella, I feel it may be necessary to lay out why. In a formal recognition as a "social club" with the IRS, it can enable the following:
Organizing/Savings on street cleanup supplies/materials
Organizing/Savings on street party/happy hour supplies/materials
Organizing/Savings on recreational outings like camping, trips, tours
Organizing/Savings on other social events
Organizing/Support of the weekly trivia team
We are currently looking for individuals to serve on the board and any committees needed by the board.
Fourth of July Celebration
In honor of American Independence Day, join us in celebrating the crazy year that we just all experienced with a pig roast and cookout. You are encouraged to bring your favorite dish to share and/or throw on the grill. See you at the Duncan Street July Fourth Block Party, Permit Pending

Duncan Street Pride
Since the events at the Stonewall Inn in June, 1969, a collective call to action continues to inspire us to live up to our Nation’s promise of equality, liberty, and justice for all. Pride is a time to recall the trials the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) community has endured and to rejoice in the triumphs of trailblazing individuals who have bravely fought — and continue to fight — for full equality.
Duncan State
Okay, so maybe the micro-state of Duncan won't ever become a new star on the ol' red, white & blue, but we can always hope for the day where DC's star will join the other 50.
Black Lives Matter
February is Black History Month and built in no small part upon the early efforts by Carter G. Woodson's celebration of "Negro History Week", designated for the second week in February, to coincide with marking the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. Duncan Street would like to recognize Dr. Woodson's belief that "what we need is not a history of selected races or nations, but the history of the world void of national bias, race hatred and religious prejudice" as still relevant today as it was when spoken nearly 100 years ago.
